This week, I discovered a raw and powerful online graphic arts project, Muscle Memory by Al Davison which is the second volume of an autobiography.
It is, at times, a difficult story to travel through as it chronicles memories of childhood trauma and abuse. It also illustrates how powerful community, creativity, and knowledge can be in helping one survive such trauma.
Al Davison is an English comic book writer and artist from Newcastle, England, and is famous for his autobiographical graphic novel The Spiral Cage, which describes his lifelong struggle with spina bifida and his rise to successful comic book creator, martial arts instructor, filmmaker, and performer.
