Today's read:
Disabled people know what it means to be vulnerable and interdependent. We are modern-day oracles. It's time people listened to us.
The Society of Disabled Oracles is a website that invites people with disabilities to submit ‘telegrams’ responding to prompts by disabled oracles, a living chorus and archive of disabled wisdom from the past, present, and future.
Landing on the homepage for the first time was like walking off the grid, a momentary unplugging from the hum of capitalism, and an invitation to reflect on our lives and our community and ways of being that better serve us.
You can quickly view some of the prompts on their IG channel which are categorized by oracle names like The Wormhole which asks "How do you bend and crip time"? or The Abundance, "What are some examples of brilliance you see in yourself and your people?"
